PrettyThin Journal Post New Entry

My first Tat..soon to come

Posted by Emily on January 30, 2012 at 9:45 AM

SO I'm about to get a tattoo, in a couple weeks/one month.  It will be on my left ribs and is the saying  "Strength does not come from physical capacity.  It comes from an indomitable will." - Mahatma Ghandi

I want it because it shows that physical strength and body type don't mean we aren't strong.  I may later have a frail frame, as I lose weight, but I am still a strong woman.  :)

And I also love it because didn't Ghandi starve for his people's rights?? <3

Be careful getting a tattoo that for you relates to your ED, because I really hope that one day you will recover, and then it might act as a horrible reminder of what you went through. It's one thing keeping your thoughts for the rest of your life, but another to see physically how you felt and what you inflicted on yourself.
That aside, I love tattoo's and I would actually really like to get one myself. I want it to be meaningful to me though so I'm holding on until I am more decided.

Sounds like a good tattoo and if you do ever recover, it can always apply to every other thing in life as well. i'm getting my first one soon, i'm so excited. maybe post a pic when you get it, i would love to see it :)
