Sure, people view their bodies differently. We all have a body image, skewed or mainstream, and we have it in the context of our time and place. Society, our individual societies, and cultures all have an impact - and the way the internet connects us and blurs those lines are a part of how we see ourselves as well as one another. There is a "self" within us that chooses the lens through which we see all of this, how we internalize it, and how we define everything with.
And then, because of it all, or despite it, we have our own unique ways of expressing it. Want to share in the expression? Send me images and your idea of what this all means to you.
Stay Beautiful, just as you are,
James
| This book was released this morning on Amazon and at Barnes & Nobles. Keisha Burton, the author of Beautiful Girl, asked me to promote her book and I thought this was something the community would appreciate.

For some we're just a product of history. Trying to perfect the motions that generations upon generations have worked so hard at trying to optimize, maximize, beautify, expand up...do better. From athletics to selling cars, making cookies to dance, from....you get the picture.
Some find themselves to be no more than a product of their pasts. I know I often feel it, thinking of all the reasons I am where I am today. But at any moment I can to any thing I want. Within bounds - within reason. I can't go live in Windsor Castle when Her Majesty is out; some whims are fanciful. But I can be anyone I want to be, at any moment. It's a struggle, and the person I struggle with is me. The "things" I struggle with are all those things society or culture or the truth of the universe have me believe I need to be.
But from time to time, some people break convention. Picasso, in his own way, is one of those people. Salvador Dali. Frank Lloyd Write. The lady who artistry changed the way we view dance, sparking a new era in contemporary dance.
Be yourself. From your own expression you may find others following you...
Okay, time to find some grated cheese. I'm certain there is more meaning in it than we give ti credit for...

I haven't been here for a while and I do apologize for that. I have been thinking about ways to address the instability issues on PrettyThin an the only thing I can think about is to move to a new host. The cost part is handled for now, so I'm not worried about it. I started making websites - plug: want to hire me? Get in touch :-) -and now pay for hosting for my sites and thus can just host PT on my own. But, that would mean losing all the profiles we have on here. We would have to start forums from scratch and would have to make profiles all over again. We would still have access to all the tools and maybe more tools, but PrettyThin would definitely look different. The PrettyThin Magazine is sort of an experiment. If that site had a blog, and PrettyThin.com went there instead of here, would it be good enough? Imagine the same forum, and the same chat rooms, but over there. And imagine if instead of blogs, we had articles (like the ones I wrote on there) but it would all be by you and all categorized in sections I made (and more than can be made). Take a look - maybe you'll see what I'm saying. But would it work?
So, that's me.
Mother's day tomorrow....always a tense holiday for me, but it shouldn't be. I think the picture above says it all. What about you?
Stay Beautiful, just the way you are,
James :-)
Support stuff by liking stuff. It's me being me so I can support who I am and from time to time PT.
